Starting from 2024, Chery’s cars and electric cars with hybrid powertrains will be sold in Russia under the new Chery NEV brand. This is stated in a message from the Chinese automaker obtained by socialbites.ca.
The new brand, which will have its own dealer network, is planned to open nearly 70 car dealers in the country in the first stage. Chery’s new management was headed by Dmitry Maksimov, who previously worked as Volkswagen Sales Director for more than five years and was responsible for the Russian and Kazakhstan markets.
Chery at the end of October presented In Russia, hybrid versions of the crossovers Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro, which received the Plug-in Hybrid prefix in the name. The first model will cost 4 million rubles, the second – 5.2 million rubles. Crossovers received a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 147 hp. and two electric motors. The total power of the power plant is 235 hp and it takes 7 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h. The maximum range is 1 thousand km.
