It is possible to experience difficulties in the movement of vehicles at the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint on the border of Russia and Georgia from November 13 until the end of the month. In this respect reports Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.

According to the ministry, work will begin on November 13 at the checkpoint to asphalt the area at the entrance to Russia from Georgia. It is expected to last approximately three weeks. Some lanes will be phased out for all vehicle categories.

Therefore, the Federal Customs Service recommends that carriers consider alternative routes for transporting goods. In particular, there are three international road checkpoints on the border with Azerbaijan: Yarag-Kazmalyar, Tagurkent-Kazmalyar and Novo-Filya, which specializes in passing empty trucks.

“Upper Lars” is the busiest checkpoint on the Russia-Georgia border. The flow of cars passing through here in recent months has exceeded a thousand per day. There are about forty lanes of traffic there right now.
