Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Rapid cars have become burdensome for Russian owners due to the high prices of their maintenance. In this respect reports “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”, citing Alexander Nosko, service manager of the Fresh automotive market.
“On average in Russia, the cost of servicing cars in Russia this year has increased by 21%, but some models in the mass segment have become particularly unprofitable in terms of operation. For example, Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Rapid,” Nosko told the publication.
According to him, owners of such cars, having traveled an average of 17 thousand km annually for five years, will have to visit the service six times; maintenance of a Volkswagen Polo during this period will cost 68.6 thousand rubles, and Skoda Rapid – 85.2 thousand rubles.
According to Nosko, the high cost of maintaining vehicles of foreign brands is currently greatly affected by the increasing cost of spare parts and consumables. In particular, in 2023, the price of headlights and headlights for Korean cars increased by 36-47%, while the price of bumpers, headlights and neutralizers for Japanese and French cars increased by 90%.
