The number of road trips by Russian citizens to European countries decreased by almost half during the year. This was reported by RBCExcerpt from data from the FSB border service.
Thus, in the July-September period of this year, Russians entered the territory of the states included in the Schengen area 378.8 thousand times. Meanwhile, in the third quarter of 2022, the number of such trips increased by 684.4 thousand, that is, 1.8 times.
The reason for this significant decrease was the ban on the entry of vehicles with Russian license plates, which EU countries implemented last September.
In July-September this year, Russians visited Finland most often by car – more than 200 thousand times. But this is 53% less than a year ago. The number of trips to Estonia decreased by 55%, and to Latvia and Lithuania by a third.
