“All-season tires are a great story. However, the expert said that it can be used safely in the Krasnodar Region and other southern regions of the Russian Federation only in countries and regions with a temperate climate and without ice and snow accumulations.
He warned that in more northern regions such tires are not very suitable, because due to the rubber composition they cannot be used reliably on ice and are not always suitable as summer tyres.
Rakitin stated that such tires are in even worse condition during the winter months due to the mixture of water and ice on the roads.
He described the efficiency of universal tires as an advantage, but emphasized that they wear out faster than normal seasonal tires because they are in constant contact with the road.
The use of all-season tires is a compromise, the auto expert said, adding that seasonal tire changes are a necessity in most regions of Russia.
