The most dangerous cars on the roads in Russia in terms of safety are the domestic Lada Granta and old Chinese cars. Deputy Chairman of the National Automobile Union (NAU) Anton Shaparin told socialbites.ca about this.
“The most dangerous cars for the driver are those that are not equipped with modern active and passive safety equipment. This is the Lada Granta, which was created by engineers as a car with ABS and airbags, but was later deprived of these options. Accordingly, such a car may behave inappropriately on the road, and in the event of an accident there is a risk of serious injury to the driver. Indian Bajaj Qute cars and old Chinese cars that flooded our market in the early 2000s are also dangerous. They were made of thin metal and not all models had active safety systems,” Shaparin said.
Drivers should also be careful when operating vehicles that are rusty or have been in accidents. For example, rotten side members seriously reduce body rigidity. If the vehicle has been in a serious accident, no service can return it to its original condition. The expert explained that such a machine would fold like an accordion if hit again.
Low-power cars such as Daewoo Matiz, Citoren C1, Smart, Nissan Note and even the domestic Oka are no less dangerous for the driver and passengers. Shaparin noted that if there is a threat of colliding with another car, the minicar will not even have time to gain speed to maneuver and escape the attack.
