Finnish customs officers have deployed 157 such vehicles at the border since the ban on entry of vehicles with Russian license plates was introduced. In this respect reports press service of the department.
Most vehicles with Russian license plates were not allowed to pass through the Vaalimaa-Torfyanovka customs point (81). Additionally, 38 vehicles were not allowed to pass through the Nuijamaa-Brusnichnoe border point. In addition, 15 vehicles were deployed at the police station in Imatra and 11 at the Norwegian border.
On September 10, the European Union banned Russian imports of personal cars, smartphones and cosmetics, as they were considered imports. Restrictions also include trailers and semi-trailers used to transport precious stones, toilet paper, shampoos, toothpastes, goods, yachts and cameras.
European Commission representative Daniel Sheridan Ferry said EU countries should decide independently what to do with goods that have entered their territory from Russia, including cars.
