At the end of May, the Internet media spread a report about a shipment of Lada Vesta cars in an updated version (the manufacturer uses the abbreviation NG, “new generation”); the cars were photographed while on the transporter. Four sedans and three station wagons were included in the frame.
It was reported that the equipment of the cars included parking sensors, a camera, LED fog lamps, alloy wheels, a regular (not with a “tablet” screen) MMC, a rear-row armrest, a 1.6 engine in combination with a manual transmission, as well as a standard (non-electric) parking brake.
Note that Vesta is assembled in Izhevsk, and the cars on the car transporter were filmed in Tolyatti. According to the first assumptions, they were intended for one of the official dealers. However, as the source of the photos later explained, the public of Avtograd News, Vesta on a car transporter, is not for sale. The cars went from Izhevsk to Tolyatti to get to the Scientific and Technical Center of AVTOVAZ. This division is involved in the development and testing of new machines.
The source added that production of Lada Vesta NG cars is currently not underway and that the cars in the frame belong to a batch of about 200 cars assembled in February and March. The prospect of serial production is labeled “very illusory”, we are not talking about shipping to dealers.
Recall that the first new Vesta rolled off the assembly line of the Lada Izhevsk plant on February 22 of this year. Now that this company is inactive, employees receive payments equal to 2/3 of the median income and are involved in public works. The same situation occurs at the AvtoVAZ plant in Tolyatti.
