According to Rosstat estimates, 264,000 passenger cars were assembled at Russian companies from January to April. This is 47.4% less than from January to April 2021.
If we look at production per month, there was a record decline in production in April. It was 85.4% compared to April last year – only 20 thousand new cars rolled off factory assembly lines.
The reason for this is the lack of components and the disruption of supply chains. The country has already taken measures to increase the production of new cars. Particularly at the legislative level, the green light was given for the production of simplified versions of machines. For example, the start of the issuance of such grants is scheduled for June 6.
Truck output fell slightly – by 5.6%, to 52.5 thousand units in four months. But in April, their production fell by 30.4% to 12.2 thousand units.
