In August, Russians spent a record 590 billion rubles on used cars in the last three years. reports TASS cites a study by Otkritie Auto and the analytical agency Autostat.

“At the end of summer, residents of the Russian Federation spent 586.5 billion rubles on the purchase of used cars; this is 55% more than in August 2022 (379.5 billion rubles). This figure is a record since January 2021,” the report says.

European and Japanese second-hand cars continue to lead the cost. In August, 207.9 billion rubles were spent on the purchase of European cars and 206.2 billion rubles on Japanese cars. The purchase of used Korean brands cost 86.2 billion rubles, domestic brands – 41.4 billion rubles, American brands – 32.9 billion rubles.

According to data on the transfer of vehicles to their owners, passenger vehicle sales increased by 63.6 thousand units in September. It amounted to 116.3 thousand units.
