The average cost of taxi travel in Russia in 2024 will increase by 7-10%. Irina Zaripova, head of the Public Council for Taxi Development, told socialbites.ca. According to him, there are five factors that could affect tariffs next year.
“Next year is an election year, the economic situation is still unpredictable. However, it can be predicted that transportation prices will increase in line with inflation during the year. This is about 7-10 percent of today’s tariff levels,” Zaripova said.
The expert noted that there are various reasons for the increase in taxi fares in 2024. This is an increase in car prices and maintenance, an increase in the cost of gasoline and insurance costs. According to him, another problem has recently emerged that affects the cost of travel: a shortage of drivers. Taxi aggregators began to solve this problem by attracting disabled people and women.
