According to information obtained by socialbites.ca, Russian dealers have sold out of the last copies of the new Volkswagen Polo produced at the Volkswagen plant in Kaluga.
The publication was informed about this at the Volkswagen dealership in Magnitogorsk, where the last two Polo cars went on sale in September.
“The cars are out of stock, they were sold last week,” the manager of the car dealership told a socialbites.ca reporter who asked about buying a new Polo.
The fact that Volkswagen Polos produced in Russia are no longer available is also evidenced by the data of Automotive Group Rus (the name of the former Russian representative office of Volkswagen Group Rus). A dealer from Magnitogorsk offered the latest Volkswagen Polo in the poor Respect package for 2.1 million rubles.
Volkswagen Polo sedans have been produced at the Kaluga Volkswagen plant since 2010. In October 2009, the pre-production Polo sedan at the Kaluga plant was shown to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during the ceremony for the start of full cycle production (including welding, painting and assembly). The 400,000th Polo Sedan was launched in 2017.
Volkswagen Polo liftbacks have been offered on the Russian market since 2020, production was discontinued in 2022.
