The cost of an extraordinary exit from Estonia to Russia for passenger cars will almost double from September 17. This was reported by the Police and Border Guard Department of the Baltic Republic. transmits TASS.

For cars, the cost of setting aside a specific time slot to pass through border control will be 9 euros instead of 5 euros, and for buses it will be 16 euros instead of 1 euro. The cost for trucks will remain the same (€16). Free discounted trains for regular buses will continue. All drivers will be able to cross the border free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

They understand that the price increase will cause discontent among those crossing the border, as stated by Estonian border guards. However, the report stated that businesses serving waiting areas “will not be able to provide an unprofitable service for a long time.”

On September 10, the European Union published a document prohibiting EU members from considering Russian imports of personal cars, smartphones and cosmetics as imports. Also subject to restrictions are trailers and semi-trailers for the transportation of precious stones, toilet paper, shampoos, toothpastes, goods, yachts and cameras.

Finnish authorities decided As of midnight on September 16, entry into the country will be closed for passenger cars registered in Russia. Before this, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania had made a similar decision.
