Volkswagen plans to introduce the next generation Atlas crossover to the US market in 2026. In this respect reports motor1.com.
According to the publication, Volkswagen has already started working on a new car. Externally the car will be similar to the current generation of the model. However, buyers will be able to choose the electric version as well as the gasoline version.
In February 2023, the Volkswagen Atlas and its coupe version, the Atlas Sport, received a new front-end design. Also, Volkswagen specialists tried to make the appearance of the two modifications of the car different. Atlas Sport gets particularly bright radiator grille elements. A virtual instrument panel and projection of indicator readings onto the windshield appeared in the cabin.
Volkswagen Atlas lost its naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 engine, but the power of the remaining 2.0-liter TSI engine was increased to 269 hp. Both versions of the car are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
