Automobile manufacturer PJSC Sollers will pay approximately 150 million rubles in excess profits tax. Group co-owner and CEO Nikolai Sobolev spoke about this: reports Interfax.

According to Sobolev, payment calculations are now in the final stage. Sollers was the first company from the automotive industry to state the amount of the planned payment within the scope of this tax.

The law introducing an unexpected tax in Russia was signed by President Vladimir Putin. The tax is collected from both Russian companies and foreign companies operating through a representative office in the Russian Federation.

According to the law, as of January 1, 2024, large companies with an average profit of more than 1 billion rubles for 2021-2022 must pay excess profits tax. The tax rate will be 10% of excess profits in this two-year period over the same figure in 2018-2019. The amount is calculated by the payers themselves; It can be halved (up to 5% effective rate) if the guarantee payment is made between October 1st and November 30th this year.

Sollers produces passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Ulyanovsk (UAZ), Elabuga (Sollers Atlant and Argo) and Vladivostok (Sollers ST6) at the plant where Mazda cars were previously produced.

Previously “Sollers” clarified price of the new ST6 pickup.
