The Chinese company Chery has postponed the Russian premiere of its massive flagship crossover Tiggo 9 to next year. Evgenia Nikitena-Katsarskaya, head of Chery’s press service in Russia, told socialbites.ca correspondent about this.
“Previously, it was about the desire to introduce the flagship Chery Tiggo 9 crossover to the Russian market at the end of 2023. However, the premiere was postponed to a later date. According to our plans, the company will show and start selling a new model in 2024,” said Evgenia Nikitena-Katsarskaya.
The Tiggo 9 crossover is Chery’s largest model: its length is 4820 mm. Its competitors in the market may be Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe.
The interior of the crossover is made in a minimalist style with a small number of buttons: touch switches are used even on the steering wheel. Dual-zone climate control is integrated into the media system menu. The front passenger seat has a retractable footrest. Tiggo 9 has 14 speaker Sony sound system.
The crossover is equipped with a 2.0 gasoline turbo engine (261 hp). The front-wheel drive version has a seven-speed robotic transmission, while the all-wheel drive version has an eight-speed automatic transmission.
