BMW unveiled an extended version of the X5 crossover at the Chinese auto show in Chengdu. In this respect reported Press service of the German manufacturer.
The length of the novelty is 13 centimeters longer than the BMW X5 available in other world markets. The crossover received elongated rear doors to make it easier to get into the cabin, increasing the wheelbase, giving the rear passengers more legroom.
The modification of the BMW X5 xDrive30Li is equipped with a two-liter four-cylinder engine with 258 hp, and the xDrive40Li is equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 380 hp. Both units are powered by a 46-volt starter generator, 8-speed “automatic” and all-wheel drive. The updated model gets narrower headlights, a new illuminated grille and a single unit with a digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.
The elongated X5 was designed for the Chinese market and will be produced at the BMW Brilliance Automotive joint venture in Shenyang from September this year.
