Kia unveiled the EV5 compact electric crossover at the Chengdu Auto Show in China. In this respect reported Press service of the Korean manufacturer.
The length of the novelty is 4615 mm, and the wheelbase is 2750 mm. The electric car received a power plant with a capacity of 217 hp. (310 Nm) and a battery with a capacity of 82 kilowatt-hours. The engine is mounted on the rear axle. Inside there is a large panel that combines a digital “tidy” and a multimedia screen.
The company said it designed the crossover’s interior in such a way that the driver and passengers feel like they are in a “home living room.” As you can see in the pictures, there is no middle armrest in the cabin. The novelty received the function of automatic adjustment of the interior lighting (64 colors are provided for selection). For example, the light dims in low light conditions and the system can also signal the driver about speed.
The Kia EV5 will be manufactured in China and exported to other markets, with sales in China starting in the fall. The model will be the second electric vehicle in the EV series in China, after the EV6.
