“First of all, this applies to cars in the latest production years. Here, of course, computer diagnostics is difficult to do without software. Oftentimes, you can even replace the pads using just a computer diagnostic system, not to mention the more complex units associated with the security system,” Heitzeer explained.

At the same time, he expressed hope that Russian car dealers will be able to deal with the problem, since the experience of working under manufacturers’ restrictions already exists, and Russia is preparing to block foreign software.

Now BMW and Audi owners out of use maintenance history and item updates. At the same time, market participants are trying to find a way out by starting to work on their own software or “getting information from alternative channels”.
