After the resumption of production, the cost of the Lada Largus station wagon will increase by 15%. This was expressed by Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, in an interview with a socialbites.ca correspondent. According to him, if now the basic cost of a car is 1.3 million rubles, then in the near future it may increase by 200 thousand rubles.
“For AvtoVAZ, the Lada Largus is a high-margin product, but at the same time the model is heavily dependent on imported parts. These 650 cars, which are now planned to be produced, will be assembled from Romanian car kits that were once purchased. And then the company will have to find new suppliers, both at home and abroad. “You can find components, but you will have to re-engage in logistics, make connections, and this is expensive. Certainly, after the resumption of production, the cost of the model will increase. I assume that the factory price of the passenger version of the station wagon will increase from the current 1.3 million rubles to 1.5 million rubles, “the expert said.
Production of the Lada Largus has been periodically idle since April last year due to a shortage of components. On August 14, 2023, AvtoVAZ announced the resumption of production of the model. By the end of the month, 650 cars should be off the assembly line. This issue will also include tool kits for an experimental batch of e-Largus electric vehicles, which will be assembled in Izhevsk by the end of this year.
