Cars registered in foreign countries, for which drivers violate traffic rules, will not be allowed to leave Russia. This was expressed by the head of the traffic police, Mikhail Chernikov, informs TASS.
The traffic police, together with the Ministry of Transport, prepared a draft law prohibiting cars from foreign countries with a record of traffic violations from crossing the state border of the Russian Federation. Chernikov said that such vehicles will be kept in the penalty area. According to him, the bill was passed by the State Duma at the first reading and will be expanded to include private vehicles, including cars.
“For some reason, our guests arriving in vehicles registered in another state behave freely and without impunity,” said the head of the traffic police.
He emphasized that it is now difficult to bring drivers of vehicles with foreign numbers to responsibility in the Russian Federation using video recording systems.
