Russian-made windshield wipers will be installed on Lada cars from 2024, before the automaker buys these components from foreign suppliers, informs RBC referring to Daniil Chernenko, board member of NPK Avtopribor.
According to the plan, from 2024 the Avtopribor plant in Vladimir will supply 100,000 blades and wiper blades per year (approximately 25% of AvtoVAZ’s need for windshield wipers). The contract amount is not specified.
As noted at AvtoVAZ, Avtopribor has been nominated as a long-term supplier of windshield wiper arms and brushes. The company was founded in July 2018 on the basis of an existing production plant in Vladimir and is considered the largest manufacturer of electrical equipment and components for automobile assembly plants in the Russian Federation.
Previously reportedIt is reported that AvtoVAZ postponed the corporate holiday to a later date due to problems in the supply of components that prevent the assembly of complete vehicles.
