In 2022, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs issued 179,000 international driver’s licenses, this is more than double the previous year. In this respect informs TASS, referring to the ministry’s press centre. International rights issuance rates have returned to pre-pandemic levels.

“As of the end of 2022, a total of 179,000 international driver’s licenses have been issued, comparable to 2017-2019 figures. 68,000 and 83,000 international driver’s licenses were issued in 2020 and 2021, respectively.”

The sharp decrease in the number of granting of international rights in the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2020-2021 is explained by the difficult epidemiological situation and restrictions on travel abroad. International driver’s licenses are proof of the right to drive outside the issuing country. They are regulated in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, adopted in 1968.

Previously, it was known that more than 70% of new cars were produced in March 2023. imported From China to Russia.
