51 people were evacuated from the snow stuck on the Don highway in the Rostov region. It has been reported Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.

According to the Ministry of Emergencies, eight fixed heating and feeding points for the survivors and seven temporary shelters for 56 children and 115 adults have been deployed. Nine additional temporary shelters have been put on alert. With the help of snowmobiles, food is delivered to the emergency area, and also fuel is delivered with heavy equipment.

Work continues to clear the road where bulldozers are used. Five barrier fences were removed to facilitate maneuvers.

The rainy snowfall that started in the Rostov region on the night of March 30 turned into snow. A traffic jam formed on the M-4 “Don” highway every 60 km. On the section of the highway in the Kamensky district, traffic is completely blocked.
