Last winter, the average bill for a taxi ride increased by 13% compared to the winter of 2021-2022. This is stated in a study by the Russian Standard Bank commissioned by socialbites.ca.

Thus, during the year, the average amount of payment for a taxi ride increased from 334 rubles to 379 rubles. At the same time, the average check for non-cash payments with cards at gas stations fell from 1,316 rubles to 1,312 rubles, according to bank accounts. Credit institution experts see the reason for the increase in the cost of taxi services in the low temperatures of last winter.

“This can be attributed to the severe frosts seen in different regions at the beginning of the year. Analysts said that many try not to use their personal vehicles in difficult weather conditions and prefer a taxi ride.

The highest average check for a trip in a taxi last winter was among Russians aged 51-60 (425 rubles). Customers 41-50 years old (404 rubles) took second place in terms of average amount. Third place belongs to Russians 31-40 years old (371 rubles).

The average purchase value (1482 rubles) at gas stations was the highest among Russians 51-60 years old. This is followed by customers aged 41-50 years (1374 rubles) and 31-40 years old (1215 rubles). This included paying for both gasoline and related goods at the box office. At the same time, additional expenses for non-gasoline at gas stations are noticeably higher for men than for women – 719 rubles against 386 rubles, respectively.
