Domestic car buyers are preparing new state aid measures

The Government of the Russian Federation is once again concerned about the increasing demand from buyers for the purchase of Russian-made cars.

To this end, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is developing new support measures, said Albert Karimov, deputy head of the department, who spoke in the Federation Council at parliamentary hearings on the problems and prospects for the development of the domestic auto industry.

“In fact, we are also looking at other additional mechanisms to stimulate demand… We have two or three more options, with proposals we will come up with mechanisms to stimulate demand,” said Karimov.

He gave no details. But he noted that the current arrangements to support domestic car demand: preferential car loans and preferential leasing have proven their effectiveness and will continue to be. So, only this year, 20.7 billion rubles will be allocated from the budget for these state programs.
