Kaliningrad Avtotor started assembling cars from the Chinese Kaiyi brand this week. This name means little to the Russian consumer, so the manufacturer still has to convince people that this is a good car, car expert Dmitry Popov is sure.
Not everything is so clear with the price: the sales price of the E5 sedan is indicated at the level of about or more than a million rubles. Most likely it will be higher than in China, but a locally assembled car is unlikely to be more expensive than one brought from abroad, the expert noted.

It is now of great importance for the manufacturer to offer the right combination of price and quality.
“Word of mouth can work: look, I bought a Chinese car, and that is very personal. Or vice versa, I drove 10 thousand km and the bearings fell down. The manufacturer must take into account all the nuances of image formation,” concludes Popov.
