On January 5, 2002, Elvis Presley’s car was sold at auction for $262,000. It was a yellow Italian sports car De Tomaso Pantera 1971 with an American engine.
Pantera is the most famous model of the brand. It was produced for more than twenty years: from 1971 to 1996. The car has a very powerful engine – a 5.7-liter Ford Cleveland V8. The car was also equipped with a five-speed manual transmission.
Pantera was initially very popular in Europe and the US. No wonder Elvis Presley bought one of these cars.
He shot through the wheel with a Colt 45 revolver, popularly referred to as the “peacemaker”. The “king” gave this car to the girl. When they argued, he effectively wanted to slip away from his lover, but the car wouldn’t start. Then the revolver knocked out the singer’s evil on this machine. Several bullets pierced the steering wheel, one – the floor.
