In Russia, new traffic rules (SDA) that will affect owners of electric scooters will come into force on March 1. This was announced to the agency by the lawyer of the Eurasian Law Society “Senator” Sergey Savelyev. hit the primer.
As the lawyer pointed out, the new version of the SDA will include a concept of an individual mobility vehicle (SIM) that includes electric scooters, electric skateboards, gyro scooters, segways and unicycles.
For these modes of transport, the maximum speed will be limited to 25 km/h, and the speed will have to be calculated based on pedestrian safety priority.
In addition, from March 1, new road signs will be introduced: “No traffic for buses”, “Movement is prohibited on individual mobility vehicles” (prohibit movement for electric scooters, electric skateboards, gyroscopes, segways, unicycles and the like), and “Electric charging vehicles”.
Paid and free parking areas will be separated by blue and white lines. Stopping and parking will be prohibited on guide islands and security islands.
As Savelyev emphasized, from March 1, the authorities will be able to stop vehicles of 3.5 tons and above in all places marked “Customs Checkpoint”. Currently, such a stop is allowed only in customs control zones on the border of the Russian Federation.
