In a number of regions, the number of speed limit violations was significantly reduced in November, the traffic police have noted. For example, according to statistics, the speed of 20-40 km/h (part 2 of article 12.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) was recorded in Moscow by 38% less than a month earlier (898 thousand against 1.45 million), in the Moscow Region – by 40% (1.4 million versus 2.34 million).

  • in the Rostov region the decrease was 20%
  • in Chelyabinsk – 40%
  • in the Belgorod region – 42%
  • in St Petersburg – 45%
  • in the Novosibirsk region – 46%
  • in Tatarstan and Khabarovsk Territory – 47%
  • in the Altai Territory – 48%
  • on Sakhalin – 52%
  • in the Nizhny Novgorod region – 53%
  • in Tyumenskaya — 61%
  • in Sverdlovsk – 62%.

Authorities and experts attribute the drop in such violations to seasonal factors: heavy rainfall, heavy traffic and a general slowdown in traffic. In addition, with the arrival of snow and ice, most drivers begin to drive more carefully, avoid sudden maneuvers, keep their distance and do not exceed the speed.

And in the south of Russia, the number of such violations (exceeding the speed limit by 20-40 km/h), on the contrary, has increased, and in some regions even by two or three times.

  • in Crimea there were three times as many
  • in Adygea – a fivefold increase
  • in North Ossetia – 3.6 times
  • in Sevastopol there are 26% more offenses.

The sharp increase in fines here is mainly caused by an increase in the number of cameras on the roads, relatively good weather and lack of snow.
