The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, said that the share of Russian cars in the domestic market should increase from 40% to 80% by 2030. To do this, it is planned to expand the volume of state aid, including for the production of car parts.
According to Manturov, with state aid, one can count on a doubling of the total production of all types of cars and a tripling of the production of car parts.
For the development of components and materials alone, the government will allocate 50 billion rubles from public funds.
Given the global trends in the automotive industry and the task of technological sovereignty, Manturov suggested focusing on the development of hybrids and electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and transportation autonomy technologies. It is also possible that some car manufacturers will start producing vehicles that run on natural gas.
