If you spend hours in traffic jams, the temptation is great to avoid all this in residential courtyards. But we must remember that under clause 1.2 of the SDA, the transit of vehicles in residential areas is restricted. You can only drive to your place of residence.

The rules also impose restrictions on transit through adjacent areas at industrial and commercial infrastructure facilities.

Motorists ignoring these traffic rules can be fined, even two, as rarely anyone adheres to a 20 km/h speed limit in residential areas. Traffic cops are aware of such detour routes and sometimes ambush them. Usually cars are stopped at the exit from the residential area. In addition, a camera can be installed at the entrance that records the passage of vehicles.

Thus, the first fine can be imposed under Article 12.28 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for a passage (1.5 thousand rubles in the regions and 3 thousand rubles in Moscow and St. Petersburg). And the second fine is for speeding (here the amount of the fine depends on how much the speed limit was exceeded).
