A new type of smart car hacking is actively gaining traction in the shadow segment of the Internet. In the published advertisements, the attackers offer remote hacking of the vehicle, theft of on-board computer data and the removal of mechanical parts, Autonet reports.

Hackers offer Russians to hack cars remotely for 45-100 thousand rubles, depending on the region.

In December, platform experts discovered 12 such ads at once, previously there were none at all.

Car-sharing cars did not escape this fate.

Autonet believes this may be due to the increased shortage of spare parts. Such advertisements are not aimed at ordinary motorists, but at garage owners who use stolen parts for their work.

Experts believe that in 2023 the number of car thefts and burglaries will start to grow rapidly. It has become difficult and expensive to buy new cars, spare parts have also increased in price.
