A letter has been sent to the regions asking police officials not to bring cases against drivers whose bodies contain traces of drugs not related to narcotics or psychotropic drugs. These include, in particular, phenazepam and phenibut. At the same time, there is still a fairly large list of drugs, the detection of which in the blood of drivers leads to deprivation of their rights, said narcologist, psychiatrist Alexander Kovtun.
He noticed that We are talking about drugs that contain phenobarbital. These include corvalol, valocordin, valoserdine, pentalgin and andipal.
The doctor also considers drugs with codeine dangerous for motorists.
The doctor stressed that in the case of using these drugs, the driver could be held administratively liable and deprived of his rights for the fact of “drug use”.
Kovtun believes it would be rational to write a separate warning to motorists on the packaging of pills about the existing risk of being deprived of their rights. However, now in the instructions for the preparations there is no indication that deprivation of rights can follow due to the content of narcotics.
