The Nissan plant in St. Petersburg will assemble Chinese cars under the Lada brand.
According to sources, negotiations are underway with a potential partner.
So far there are no final decisions about the brands of cars that will be produced there. It also became known that the cars will be produced under the Lada brand, and the model range will not coincide with what is produced at the Togliatti plant.
Smolny confirmed that such negotiations are indeed underway and stressed that “except for the Chinese, there are no special options right now”.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, said that it was planned to start production next year at the former Nissan car plant in St. Petersburg.
