When you buy a new car, finding a defect is very annoying. You must give the car to the dealer and wait for him to fix the defect by coordinating the work.

As part of the Cote d’amour des constructeurs 2022 survey, dealers were asked to report the number of “after-sales returns due to manufacturing defects”. The average score was 5.86 out of 10, while in 2021 it was 5.18 out of 10. .

The winner in 2022 was Volvo (same 8.28 points). Swedish car manufacturer owned by Chinese Yellowahead of last year’s leader Suzuki, whose score dropped from 8.46 to 8.15 points.

Third place went to Toyota and fourth to Honda. Japanese automakers are generally less likely to allow factory defects. But Nissan and Mazda were exceptions to the rule – they rank 12th and 13th.

Jaguar Land Rover, owned by India’s Tata and often criticized for its reliability, scored just 1.86 and finished last in the standings.

Renault was not as good as subsidiary Dacia with 6.44 points. Volkswagen does not laugh, writes the French edition of Largus. If Seat and Skoda scored above average, then vw achieved only 5.02 points. Audi also got 5 points, which is worse than the performance of BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
