In the town of Atyrau, police arrested a car thief who decided law enforcement wouldn’t find him in a garbage can.
A 49-year-old woman came forward police that her Nissan Almera was stolen by an unknown man. The stolen car was tracked down using CCTV cameras.
At one of the intersections, the criminal was overtaken, but he refused to give up and tried to get away from the pursuit. The hijacker crashed into another car, got out of the passenger compartment and ran, hiding in a dumpster.
The 34-year-old detainee turned out to be a pickpocket in addition to being a car thief. Researchers took over.
