This year’s November turned out to be colder in the central regions than last year, leading to a surge in demand from domestic drivers for antifreeze and windshield wiper blades, researchers at the Chek Index analytical source note.

At the same time, the cost of these goods increased on average by 20%.

Now, according to the source, the average price of a winter washer is 323 rubles, the average check for brushes is 772 rubles.

Brushes were bought 7% more often than last year, antifreeze – 14% more often.

Batteries also increased in price this year – by an average of 3% to 4157 rubles, but their sales volume turned out to be 30% lower.

The average cost of a conditional “winter kit” (wiper blades, battery, antifreeze) in November was 5253 rubles, which is 6% higher than last year.

Experts also note that the growth in demand for these goods was influenced by the development of domestic tourism and an increase in independent travel by Russians.
