The advantages of an electric car were obvious: no liquid fuel or water was needed. However, the disadvantages clearly outweighed: far from power lines, such equipment could not be used. In addition, the long cable caused problems in use and damaged crops.
The infrastructure of agriculture, depending on such equipment, would actually have to be rebuilt, which was both unrealistic and unprofitable. As a result, pre-war era electric tractors crept into reference books and exhibitions, leaving arable land to their hydrocarbon ancestors.
