Uralvagonzavod transferred a batch of upgraded T-72B3M tanks to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Firstly, as part of the state defense command, tanks were upgraded to the level of T-72B3. The design engineers of the Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering worked on this. As a result, “the maneuverability of vehicles has improved, their firepower and security level has increased,” TASS quotes the concern’s message.
Thanks to the new protection, the survivability of armored vehicles, and hence their effectiveness, has significantly increased and they can perform more complex tasks not only in combined arms combat, but also under mass fire from anti-tank weapons.
The upgraded T-72B3 also received a new fire control system. It automates the process of preparing a shot. As a result, the accuracy of shooting has increased.
“The tank is equipped with a revved-up V-92S2 engine with a capacity of 1000 horsepower. Of. with a system of automatic control of the parameters of the power plant and automatic control of the thermal regime. The engine was developed by ChTZ-Uraltrak specialists,” added UVZ.
In the near future, Uralvagonzavod will also send modernized T-90 tanks to the NVO zone. At this time they are being prepared to be sent to the troops.
