Friendly countries are ready to supply the missing components for the Russian car industry and in particular for AvtoVAZ, Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said at a press conference. He assured that the ministry will take all possible steps to ensure that the auto giant continues to produce Volga products, regardless of how the situation with Renault develops.

“At Renault, I think colleagues will have to say this separately themselves, but we are in talks with them. These are parallel tracks – both on Avtoframos (now the factory of Renault Russia. – Ed.), and on AvtoVAZ. As for AvtoVAZ, is it a little simpler, that is, replacing suppliers from friendly countries who are ready to supply these components, and thus replacing the missing ones.We do everything we can to ensure that at AVTOVAZ the widest possible range is produced,” says TASS Manturov.

The exact list of friendly countries has not yet been officially registered anywhere, but there is a list of foreign states and territories taking unfriendly actions towards the Russian Federation – it was formed on March 5, 2022 by the government of the Russian Federation. And on the eve of this date, Russia announced the resumption of flights with 52 countries from April 9.

Globally, the lifting of restrictions has been linked to the easing of coronavirus measures, but this list also provides some guidance for today’s agenda. These are the countries with which air traffic will be restored:

Algeria, Argentina, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Venezuela, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Israel, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, China, North Korea, Costa Rica, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lesotho, Mauritius, Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, Mozambique, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar, Namibia, Oman, Pakistan, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Serbia, Syria, Thailand, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Uruguay, Fiji, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, South Africa and Jamaica.

Denis Manturov stressed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade expects improvements in the Russian car market and is making management decisions to help both the market and car production recover.

  • In particular, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance intend to recommend to the Russian government to invest 30 billion rubles in the production of universal auto parts.
