Clothing maker Hanesbrands lost $100 million due to ransomware hacks

Clothing manufacturer Hanesbrands reported that the company lost nearly $100 million in May due to a hacker attack. seen on the PC Mag website.

It was noted that the specified amount was not the ransom the company paid to the hackers, but the damage caused by the downtime. Due to the attack recorded on May 24, Hanesbrands lost the ability to purchase consumables and fulfill accepted orders for three weeks. All supply chains of the manufacturer were interrupted due to the incident.

It is still unclear which ransomware group attacked Hanesbrands and whether the company paid the attackers a ransom. What is known is that the clothing manufacturer has to spend about $15 million to restore logistics.
