The authors of Final Fantasy showed an unusual “bird” case for Steam Deck 01/17/2025, 21:30

Square Enix posted a short video on its page on the social network X (formerly Twitter) showing an unusual yellow status for Steam Deck.

The handheld console case is fluffy and feathery, inspired by the chocobo birds in the Final Fantasy games. There are leather straps with the company name written on the sides of the case, and a decorative orange beak at the bottom.

It was announced that only three such cases in total would be released. Square Enix representatives hinted that at least one copy would be distributed in the future, urging players to follow along.

However, despite its compatibility and even the presence of a hot air blower cutout on the back of the accessory, the company does not recommend using this case with the Steam Deck because the accessory may negatively affect the performance of the console.

Square Enix also reminded that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on PC soon, and announced that the upcoming game has received full optimization for Steam Deck. The game, exclusive to PlayStation 5, will be available on PC on January 23.

Previously reportedIt is stated that Nintendo Switch 2 will be almost twice as expensive as the first model.
