The record thickness of the brand new iPhone has been announced 14:55

Respected analyst Ming Chi Kuo said on his Medium blog that the upcoming iPhone 17 Air will be thinner than expected.

According to Kuo, the iPhone 17 Air will be only 5.5 mm thick at its thinnest point. It is assumed that the thinnest part is applied to the entire body, except for the camera block, which will most likely rise above the body like other smartphones.

Previously, insiders reported that the thickness of the iPhone 17 Air will vary between 5 and 6 mm. To achieve such a thin body, Apple will have to abandon stereo speakers, leaving only one, and also remove the SIM card tray – the device will only support eSIM, regardless of region.

So the iPhone 17 Air will be thinner than the iPhone 6 at 6.9mm thick, but slightly thicker than the latest iPad Pro (M4) with 5.3mm and 5.1mm thickness for the 11 and 13. -inch versions accordingly.

The four smartphones in the iPhone 17 series are expected to be introduced in autumn 2025 – the new iPhone 17 Air will replace the larger Plus model.
