Florida residents were most interested in the game, with a monthly search volume of 759.2 per 100,000 people, 31% above the national average, according to Google Keyword Planner analysis.
This is most likely because GTA 6 is set in the fictional Vice City and Leonidas State, based in Miami and Florida respectively.
Nevada ranks second in search volume with 729.4 searches per 100,000 people; this is 26% above the US average. New York ranks third with 716.5 demands per 100 thousand people; this is 24% above average.
GTA BOOM director Matt Gibbs noted that anticipation for the release of GTA VI is at its peak, especially considering that more than a decade has passed since the release of the last game in the series. History shows that there was a significant increase in the number of sick leave days during the release of major games like Red Dead Redemption II.
Gibbs suggested that a similar situation could repeat with the release of GTA VI, leading to a “wave of GTA flu”. He advised employers in states where interest in gaming is high to be prepared for a possible increase in sick leave requests.
