D-Link has confirmed that its DSR-150, DSR-150N, DSR-250, DSR-250N, DSR-500N and DSR-1000N routers are vulnerable due to the discovery of a critical bug that allows hackers to remotely execute arbitrary code. The devices were discontinued, so the company refused to release a patch to fix the problem.

Owners of these routers may experience data leaks, malware installation, and DoS attacks.

Most of the vulnerable devices were or are still sold in Russia. As CNews noted, the DSR-250N router is available in one of the largest markets at a price of 22 thousand rubles. Additionally, most of the listed models were previously sold in offline retail.

D-Link does not disclose information on the number of routers sold in Russia. However, the company invites everyone who owns such devices to purchase new ones whose support has not yet been discontinued. In Russia and almost all countries where D-Link sells its products, the company is ready to sell new routers at full price. Also, in the US only, customers will be able to enjoy a 20% discount on the new DSR-250v2 model.
