Valve’s portable Steam Deck console was capable of running Apple’s latest operating system, macOS Sequoia. about this reports TechSpot portal.
According to enthusiasts, installing macOS on Steam Deck turned out to be more difficult than installing Windows due to the lack of GPU acceleration. Currently, the AMD processor installed in the console does not have drivers for working with the macOS graphics core, which does not allow running games and applications with high graphics load.
Despite the technical difficulties, enthusiasts remain optimistic. They believe that RDNA 2 driver support in macOS could be adapted to work with the console chip after a kernel update. If implemented successfully, Steam Deck could turn into a full-fledged portable Mac, currently called Deckintosh online.
Steam Deck is a portable gaming console developed by Valve and released in February 2022. The device runs on the SteamOS operating system and supports a wide range of games from the Steam store library.
