Truck driver was distracted by sex chat and hit a pregnant woman 17:19

A semi-trailer driver from Iowa (USA) was involved in an accident on a highway in Minnesota (USA) after being distracted by a smartphone sex chat. As a result of the incident, a child died and many people were injured. about this reports CBS News edition.

The accident occurred when traffic in front of the semi-trailer slowed down due to construction work and the driver crashed into a Chevrolet Suburban. This led to a series of other accidents. The crash left two people in Suburban with life-threatening injuries, one of whom was 31 weeks pregnant. The woman had an emergency cesarean section, but the baby still could not be saved.

All three children in the backseat of the Suburban had to be taken to the hospital. Other participants in the accident suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the indictment, the 52-year-old truck driver caused the accident while driving because he was distracted by a sex chat on an online dating service.

The driver will appear in court in December this year.
