Tesla Cybertruck truck has once again become the center of attention in the media with a new record. This time, the new product has become the first Tesla passenger car to exceed a charging speed of 400 kW. In this regard reports Teslarati broadcast.
The higher battery pack voltage allows the Cybertruck to charge faster. However, achieving the higher charging speeds requires having a suitable charging station. However, there are currently no Tesla Supercharger public charging stations in the United States that can provide such a high voltage. Therefore, the potential of the new Tesla Cybertruck power system has not yet been fully realized.
The Cybertruck has a large 123-kilowatt-hour battery pack, which can take a significant amount of time to charge when using the 250-kilowatt Supercharger. In a recent test in the US, it took 45 minutes to charge the battery from 11% to 80%, reaching a maximum speed of 206 kW and maintaining an average speed of 118 kW throughout the session.
The situation changed when the Cybertruck was tested in Slovakia. Enthusiasts managed to set a new charging speed record. The vehicle was connected to a 600 kW Ejoin charger, allowing the EV to reach a maximum charging speed of 405 kW. At the end of the charging session, which lasted one hour and two minutes, the average charging speed was 113 kW, and the total amount of energy transferred to the battery was 118.8 kilowatt-hours.
