iFixit, known for its work to empower users to fix their electronics, has announced its new product, FixHub. It’s a portable soldering station designed for convenient, high-quality electronics repairs on the go. About reports MacRumor’s post.
The FixHub power station acts as the control and power center of the soldering iron. It is equipped with a 55 Wh battery that provides more than eight hours of continuous soldering on a single charge. The power supply is capable of delivering up to 100 W per pair of USB-C ports, allowing it to be used to power two soldering irons simultaneously. The FixHub can also be used to charge a smartphone or even a laptop.
The portable power station is equipped with a handy display to view the status of the soldering iron, as well as a handy regulator that adjusts the power supplied to the soldering iron to maintain temperatures up to 400 degrees Celsius. The hinged bracket and mounting points on the left and right sides allow you to attach the soldering iron cover as a stand for convenient use.
The soldering iron has been designed with ergonomics in mind, with a comfortable pen-style handle and a short 1.5mm curved tip for precise temperature control. Additional attachments will be sold separately.
FixHub is available in two configurations: a portable soldering station with a soldering iron and a battery pack costs $ 250 (about 22.6 thousand rubles at the exchange rate of September 15, 2024 – socialbites.ca), and a complete set of tools, including a soldering iron, battery block, pliers and other tools – $ 300 (about 27.2 thousand rubles).
